Hire the Goat

My good friend, William Barr, is the Director and lead animator of BillyGoat Entertainment. Recently BillyGoat have produced a series of advertisements for Northern Ireland property website, Property Pal.

Property Pal 1 from BillyGoat Entertainment on Vimeo.

This is the first in a series of adverts we’ve produced for PropertyPal.com – broadcast on UTV in Ireland.

This is going to be broadcast on UTV, which is brilliant exposure for BillyGoat. I know animation maybe isn’t something you need every day, but if you ever do need animators, I highly recommend BillyGoat Entertainment

Sherlock

I have never really paid much attention to any of the stories of Sherlock Holmes very much. I knew there were some novels, and an old tv series. Recently however I have become more interested in the stories. With the big screen movie last year and the recent BBC drama series, which was fantastic, some of the best TV I have seen. If you haven’t seen the recent TV show I suggest buying it on iTunes, it really is excellent. Here is a little teaser.

After watching the TV show, I decided I would read some of the Arthur Conan Doyle novels. I found out that the Sherlock Holmes novels are out of copyright, and because of this are available as free ebooks, through the Gutenberg project. I have downloaded all the novels and short stories, and am making my way through them in order. I started with ‘A Study in Scarlet’ and have just finished ‘The Sign of the Four’.

If you are not reading anything at the moment, or are looking for something to read, I highly recommend the Sherlock Holmes books.

Life…

If you are expecting a post with some philosophical points of view about our human existence, then I’m sorry to disappoint, but that’s not what this post is about.  It is however about ‘Life’, the documentary series by the BBC. I have seen bits and pieces of it over the past number of weeks, but hadn’t watched a full episode until last weekend.

On a friends recommendation, I watched the episode on the life of plants. It sounds incredibly dull, but was quite interesting, but the most interesting part was how thew filmed it. They used time lapse photography over several years to produce some visually stunning scenes. If you get a chance you should watch it on BBC iPlayer, and in HD if you have a good enough connection. Watch it right to the very end, your inner geek will come out in the last 10 minutes.

Neighours news…

I just heard today, some sad news…

AFTER three years of hectic full-time work on Neighbours, Caitlin Stasey is to be a “normal 18-year-old” again.

The Ramsay St darling has made the life-changing decision to finish her contract early so she can return to school and complete year 12.

She will film her last scene as Rachel Kinski next month, after three years on the show.

It’s not gonna be the same without her in the show, I’m glad I went to Melbourne when I did, and got a wee wave from her…
